Apple’s next gen flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5S, has finally begun production and, as always, leaks are abounding left and right. Photos and specs have been rumored and they are suggesting that we might see one of the biggest ‘S’ upgrades ever, in the history of the iPhone.
If the reported specs that are leaking out are correct, the hardware upgrade for the 5S is going to be huge! The coming 5S is currently reported to sport a 4-inch IGZO display with the same retina resolution as the iPhone 5, a faster A6 processor, SGX 554MP4 graphics, 2GB of RAM and an better LTE radio.
New hardware has also been purported and includes upgraded 12-megapixel camera, a dual-LED flash, NFC and a fingerprint scanner. Prior to these reports, there was a lot of skepticism at the idea of the 5S actually having a fingerprint scanner, but now, according to reports coming from Reuters, it seems as though it will be a reality.
While the new hardware upgrades are still unconfirmed, reports have suggested strongly that the internal overhaul that has been in process is an effort to make additional space for new, never before seen hardware.
