25 Reasons Why The Samsung Galaxy S4 Is Better Than The HTC One

Just in case you missed it, the last time we did an article like this we looked at over 25 reasons why the HTC One is better than the Samsung Galaxy S4. But this time around, it’s the Galaxy S4’s chance to show why it still deserves to be considered the king of Android smartphones with its own set of over 25 reasons. Now, before you any of you guys go all fanboy on me, let me explain one thing. Now you see?

The S4 has 41 solid reasons in all as against the mere 32 questionable reasons for the One… thus…?

S4: El mejor smartphone de la historia!! :-P

    • Elijah Mitchell

Shouldn’t that be 41 minus the 32 in favor of the One giving the S4 an edge of 9 (give or take a few features for either)?

better repairability is really a point. ther are only 11 screws to get all the parts apart. i mean after the warranty runs out almost everybody who is just a little bit gifted can watcha tutorial video and replace damaged parts. on the one even professionals have problems to open it without damaging things.

Nice articles. We have both at my house, and while they are both excellent devices, my wife & I both prefer the S4. As a matter of fact, she is returning her One and her next smartphone will be the S4.

    • Hamza

Why do you prefer s4? I am planning to get one of these phones.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mark.long.370177 Mark Long

I like the camera quite a bit better is the main reason. Other reasons I like it better is the larger screen and I also find the TouchWiz software features useful for the most part. I also think Sammy will offer it much better support with updates and such tha HTC will do with the One. Sammy supports their flagships in a much quicker fashion than Htc. Honestly though, you cannot go wrong with either phone. I would have gotten back with you sooner but I just now seen your post.

        • Hamza

No problem at all, i will get my phone at the end of this month so perfect timing, thanks for the answer by the way :)

  • ACA7

David, you really gotta title these articles as 25+ reasons, not just 25. People are doubting your ability to count :P

Also, great comparisons but I’d like to suggest grouping some of the points as mentioned by others too. Some features are so small that when you pit them against things like longer battery life or camera image quality, they shouldn’t carry the same weight. Just a suggestion.

  • Gary

Great list of the S4’s reigning features. This solidifies my purchase that much more.

  • A

One thing you forget is that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has OpenGL ES 3 while the HTC One only has OpenGL ES 2.

  • ula

Why Didn’t you mention ALL of these reasons on the YouTube video?!

    • Bla bla

So you visit his website as well :)

I got my S4 on Monday, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve found a ton of awesome features, and the display is beautiful. The HTC One is alright, but I don’t think it fares as well for me. If you were photogenic, maybe (since the HTC One has a lot of camera features but even just the camera itself doesn’t have the megapixels the S4 does). Excellent phone.

    • http://dylricho.com/ Dylan

More megapixels don’t make better photos.

      • Miles Tails Prower Law

I never said they did. You can’t deny the picture quality on either phone, but I prefer resolution over low-light performance.

  • SantiMe

I feel S4 has soo many features that I will normally not use and the HTC has more features that I will definetely use and Those speakers!!! That’s probably what I use the most. Also the camera I think works perfect for me… since most of the pictures I would take are not in the perfect light conditions and Zoe is pretty cool.

  • http://dylricho.com/ Dylan

And a physical home button is somehow a positive? Wtf?

    • AceStar

It’s not black and white. There are benefits to a physical home button (like reducing accidental button presses) just like there are drawbacks.

  • Timucin Uzun

OMG mayber there are many reasons but the build QUality of the One tops every other smartphone in the world it is definetely the best. Boomsund is amazing too

  • http://dylricho.com/ Dylan

You forgot the usage of cheap, creeky plastic and also the mass drainage of natural oil reserves because of Samsung’s never-ending quest to use plastic to make yet another device. Samsung also manufactured a cardboard printer as a way to “lessen the usage of oil” and yet it’s the very same company that’s using most of it for their crappy phones. Well done.

    • AceStar

Then again, smelting aluminium is much worse for the planet than manufacturing plastic in terms of energy use and waste.

Have you checked out the sister article to this one, the one where he lists the reasons why the One is better than the S4?

  • http://gplus.to/boojay boo Jay

This list reminds me of the Reasons Why The iPhone 5 is Better Than The Galaxy S3 video.

    • David Rahimi

Yup! We do videos like this all the time!
