Live Blog: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Event In N.Y.C.

We’re here in New York City for the Galaxy Note 2 launch event being held by Samsung, and we’ll be doing a live blog below to share the details of the event with you. In case you haven’t heard, the Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5 inch SAMOLED display, a 1.6 GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor (that is LTE compatible), 2 GB of RAM, with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running underneath Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. We’ll be blogging on just about everything new we learn about the Note 2 (official specs, new features, release dates, pricing, etc) below, so be sure to bookmark this page to get the full play-by-play of the event.

7:33pm – Like Kanye and LeBron, the Note 2 is a game changer. Presentation over. Short and sweet and to the point. Don’t worry, details coming in a few.

7:31pm – Kayne West is in the building. Will be performing later tonight!

7:27pm – No details on release dates yet. Still talking about the Note 2 and who could use it.. Showing video of LeBron James on why he chose the Galaxy Note 2.

7:25pm – Samsung Galaxy Camera!! 26 16 MP camera running Android Jelly Bean! Will be available by the holidays on AT&T.

7:20pm – Todd Pendleton, Samsung Mobile USA Cheif Marketing Officer steps to the stage! “Samsung mobile U.S. is the fasting growing brand in the world.”

7:10pm – Video starts and “The next big thing is here” the galaxy note 2! Tablet? Phone? It’s the best of both worlds!

6:20pm – Just arrived at the Samsung Note 2 event where they will be announcing details of release dates and much more!

    Don’t want to take away from the author here who I’m sure is excited to apparently be the only one on the whole internet covering this, but we get antsy without updates like that lol.

    Kanye West probably came out, and snatched the microphone from the opening speaker and said that the iPhone is the best phone of all time, OF ALL TIME! (Pop culture reference to when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift at an awards show during her acceptance speech to say that Beyonce’s music video was the best video of all time, OF ALL TIME!! – just so that no one thinks I like apple or am promoting apple, because I’m not)

        Yes, SBj… I’ve been everywhere.. and all of the sites I’ve been on before said they would be covering this event with a camera and live feeds, but no one is!!

    This dude is lying. If he was really at the event he would know that the note 2 has an 8mp camera not a 26mp camera . And two it wont be in stores by the holidays, They will be in stores tom except at&t will only do preoders. t mobile hasnt said anything i think its tom too. But sprint and verizon and us cellular will have them. Here this was just posted a few hours ago..The upcoming Galaxy Note 2 release event will be graced with a performance by hip-hop star and producer Kanye West.

    Samsung confirmed earlier today that the G.O.O.D. Music maestro will be assisting the company to launch one of the most highly anticipated devices this year at its upcoming event in NYC.

    The company is now offering NYC fans a chance to attend the performance on its Facebook page. Samsung still has not released the details, but just said to stay tuned to the Facebook to find out exactly how to enter.

    The Galaxy Note 2 will launch on T-Mobile in the near future as the device is already listed on the company’s website.

    “Samsung innovation at its best, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 offers unmatched power with a large screen and new slimmer design,” reads the carrier’s page for the phablet. “Create produce, and share with this fun all-in-one device.”

    On the side of the page it says that the Galaxy Note is coming soon to T-Mobile and that pricing is not yet available.

    The Galaxy Note 2 release was confirmed by the carrier in a press release earlier this month.

    “The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the latest innovative device to join T-Mobile’s portfolio. It takes the all-in-one device concept to the next level and we anticipate it will replace many standalone devices consumers have today,” said Brad Duea, the senior vice president of product management for T-Mobile USA.

    “When combined with our Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan, the Galaxy Note 2 is a true powerhouse device with exclusive features, amazing 4G experiences and superior value that only T-Mobile can deliver,” he added.

    The Galaxy Note 2 will be T-Mobile’s first device to feature a quad-core processor and will also be the first to come with Android 4.1, JellyBean pre-installed.

    This guy is an idiot who is is “doing a live blog” it hasn’t been a secret that Kanye was going to be there duh!!!

      im not sure if he is lying or not but you got confused on the part where it saod 26 mega pixel camera. This is samsung event its not dedicated to note 2 compleatly. When he mentioned 26 mega pixel camera he was refering to samsung new camera that runs on jelly bean and not the note 2

    Someone at the event said that the Samsung reps said that they do not have any information regarding the pricing or release date, and that it is up to Verizon to share that information. My advice, everyone start calling VZW and post what they tell you, or just wait until 12:01am tonight to see what the website says.

    I just called the verizon store and the sales rep said the presale starts tonight at 12:01 but did not have the actual date the phone can be picked up.

    The Galaxy Note 2 will be released on all of the major U.S. carriers tomorrow including T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon, Sprint and AT&T.

    The Galaxy Note 2 release date will be Nov. 9 for AT&T customers.

    All of these companies will release their very own version of the smartphone-tablet hybrid on Oct. 25 and most of them are expected to support 4G LTE.

    This information was posted on the Galaxy Note Facebook page earlier today.

    “Get ready: the Galaxy Note 2 is coming to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile USA, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless starting tomorrow! Get the latest on your carrier,” wrote Samsung Mobile USA.

    AT&T confirmed this information in a press release yesterday.

    However, the carrier only stated that it will begin accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 2 on Oct. 25, not ship it on that date.AT&T will price the device at $300 with a new 2-year contract.

    The Galaxy Note 2 will also launch on T-Mobile in the near future as the device is already listed on the company’s website.

      Es caro Joel pero las prestaciones que tiene y su seguridad en Internet es muy fiable.Vale la pena comprarlo,exige una demostracion antes de hacerlo.
      Lumia de Microsoft por ejemplo es una pena,da errores continuamente y el sistema android fue robado a Europa,puedo probarlo.
      Si todo sale bien,proximamente Samsung sacara al mercado un smartphone que reconoce al usuario,bloquea el sistema en caso de robo y tiene algunas cosillas mas.
