Apple iPhone 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy S3, Which Is Faster?

You knew this day was coming. It’s time to compare the brand new iPhone 5 to the Samsung Galaxy S3 to see which phone is the fastest between the two. I’ll let you know right off the bat that both of these phones are fast. And in most circumstances, you won’t notice the difference between them unless you’re comparing them side by side. But, being smartphone enthusiasts, we just had to find out which was faster:

As you saw in the video, the two phones were neck in neck in most of the tests. However, if a winner must be chosen, it is clearly the iPhone 5. The Apple A6 dual-core processor held its own, booting iOS 6 faster than the Galaxy S3 could boot Android 4.0, and opening apps and loading web pages slightly faster as well. But just because the iPhone 5 has won the battle, doesn’t mean it has won the war. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean brings with it significant speed optimizations that might just give the Galaxy S3 the edge. As soon as the update is official, you can rest assured that we’ll be comparing these flagships once again!
