50 Reasons Why The iPhone 5 Is Better Than The Galaxy S3

52

Last time we did an article like this, we looked at 50 reasons why the Galaxy S3 is better than the iPhone 5. But in this article, it’s the iPhone 5’s time to shine. So we’re going to be looking at not 10, not even 20, but 50 reasons why the iPhone 5 is better than the Galaxy S3. Yeah, maybe 50 is a bit much. But we’re going with 50 for two reasons. First off, it wouldn’t be fair if we did any less considering that we did 50 for the SGS3. And second, and probably more importantly, going with 50 reasons almost guarantees that you’ll find more than a few that you’ll really like. So with that said, lets go ahead and get right into it:

With so many reasons provided in the video, we’re pretty sure that most of you won’t be able to remember them all. So we made the list below to help you refresh your memory whenever needed. Of course, we also made the list so you can share it with your friends (you know, the ones that swear Android is better than iOS). The list doesn’t go in any particular order, and all the reasons in it are things that the Galaxy S3 can’t do (or at least can’t do as well).

  1. Screen has higher pixel density and is brighter
  2. Thinner
  3. Lighter
  4. Easier one handed operation
  5. Better build quality
  6. Faster updates
  7. Supported longer
  8. More apps
  9. Better version of apps
  10. More durable
  11. Reversible charging port
  12. Vibrate switch
  13. Louder speaker
  14. Faster boot up, app speed, and browser
  15. Siri
  16. Raise to speak
  17. Reader feature in browser
  18. Video compression for email
  19. iTunes has larger media collection
  20. Find my iPhone
  21. More intuitive UI
  22. Better 3D graphics
  23. Game center
  24. Apple store customer service
  25. No bloatware
  26. Built in emoji keyboard
  27. Take pictures with volume button
  28. Tap to top in any app
  29. Multiple notification styles
  30. Spotlight search
  31. Read aloud highlighted t ext
  32. Guided access
  33. Privacy options
  34. Do not disturb
  35. Set restrictions
  36. Keyboard shortcuts
  37. Lock screen options (camera, music, Siri)
  38. Reminders by location
  39. Easy access to photo gallery from camera
  40. Custom contact vibrations Better resale value
  41. iMessage
  42. VIP mailbox
  43. Pop up notifications on lock screen
  44. Airplay mirroring
  45. iTunes remote
  46. iPod features (equalizer, shake to shuffle, etc)
  47. Passbook
  48. More accessories available
  49. Photo stream
  50. Easy sync and backup with iCloud and iTunes

There you have it. Sure, not every single reason listed above is must have feature for everybody. But I’m positive there at least a few that even the most loyal SGS3 fans could admit are pretty cool. There are 50 reasons listed here, but obviously there are many more that didn’t get mentioned. If you can think of some we didn’t cover, go ahead and leave them in the comments below so your fellow readers can see them!

Thanks for this, saved me from making a huge mistake and switching to Samsung :)

    • Stelv

Yea,I just switched to iOS from Android. Use Android for 2 years. Believe me, you don’t want to use Android. Laggy, choppy, buggy and most phones don’t get updates. Even the GSM Nexus I had was subpar.

      • Bobby Sadfaze

thats not even close to a fair comparison. old android phones were pretty bad lagwise and bugwise, but that completely changed with the introduction of the bug free and super smooth superphones of 2012. even the gs2 was the closest to this pre-2012. conclusion: 2012 androids > iPhone 5, pre-2012 androids < iPhone 5. btw ever since i got my gs2 a year ago i couldnt imagine going back to iphone, i just feel so limited

        • Mike

I believe that Android is for those people who really want customization nothing more. iPhone apps usually are much more functional and there are many accessories provide a better functioning phone. The latest iPhone that has iOS 6 is the 3GS which is great because the GSIII will no be getting any updates beyond 4.2(judging based on how software updates work: Going to manufacture then to cell carriers to test). iOS is still available to that 3 year old 3GS. Better apps usually come out first for iOS, instagram, airbnb, etc.. Googles apps are supposed to size for any resolution leaving developers to basically to developing apps that are html apps leaving very little exclusivity. Right now the best android phone is Nexus 4 which is 20x better than GS3 not because of specs because thats a trade off on the Nexus 4 but because of user experience no lag better features cheap unlocked value updates are faster because its a Google device, etc. Either Nexus 4 or iPhone 5 GS3 carries a lot of useless features much more than iOS and Nexus 4 only thing is removable battery and SD. NFC is Wi-Fi direct, i believe that means you need wi-fi direct to share with it disallowing the nexus 7.

iOS is an operating system that is designed for those people that don’t want to mess around with the system.
The ones caring about an advanced system that you can tweak and change (for those, who have an idea of it).

      • Stelvfaglosergaynerwhorebitchasspunkbitch

Android isn’t choppy you fucking pathetic loser. iOS sucks and always will. Educate yourself, you uneducated poor motherfucker. Only whore women uses iPhone, it’s a fucking girl’s toy.

You are not a man, you are a woman. You suck, you should commit suicide like every iFag user should.

You are not worth anything, I mean, stop talking shit about Android, because Android is much faster than the pathetic iCons shit on your gay desktop. Get a life, loser. Also, Russ, it’s not a mistake. iPhones are for
losers, like you. iPHONE SUCK iPHONE SUCKS, LAGGY CHOPPY UGLY BORING, LACK OF INTELLIGENCE AND FUCTIONS
FUCK OFF STEVE FAG DIE IN HELL ANDROID FTW!

        • George Timbok

First off, your “name” is a quite colorful. I’m impressed you could fit every word in your vocabulary there, but then again, I shouldn’t be. You support android after all! As for your vivid beliefs, I’m sorry you feel that way. I can’t force you to be right, nor will I try to explain Apple’s superiority as your are obviously set in your misguided ways. I’m posting this to alert you; in your comment, you used the term “uneducated”, while your entire post is shouting the same. I recommend you edit your post before many people realise what sort of an idiot you are. Meanwhile, I suggest psychotherapy for your evident head trauma (or whatever caused the brain damage). Please reply as I’m eager to hear your response :-)

        • corey

It’s morons like you that make me sad to have an Android phone. Learn to argue/debate. Dont troll. You just sound like an idiot.

  • Angelo

I’m used to work with guys with iphone (a 3gs that switched for a 4s, two 4 and two 4s) and everyone says to me everyday that iPhone is better than android (I had an Motorola Milestone 3 and now a Galaxy S3), but still noone was able to show me a real reason why iOS and iPhone is better. :\

I think both are excelents smartphones, but it’s more a personal question than which is better.

But, still, nice video. I think one completes the other. Still, I’ll stick with my GS3 and in a near future buy a Nexus 10. :)

    • Russ

Yes I would also agree the Samsung looks like a nice phone and the price is definitely a lot nicer than iPhone 5 – but seems there is a lot of stuff they need to sort out to really win a larger chunk of market share from Apple. I actually wish them luck, despite my decision to stick with iPhone for my next purchase. I so wanted Samsung to win, but having watched these vids and also read other articles, as a Mac owner as well, it makes the switch too troublesome. I hope Samsung nail it with the S4 and start tearing apart the Apple empire, because they need a good kick in the AS*!! :)

  • kev

I was way more convinced by the 50 reasons the S3 is better. Thanks for these videos, it’s time to make the switch from iOS to Android.

  • Andy

I have used both the phones and here is what I have seen….
    1. Screen has higher pixel density and is brighter
True it is crisper on iPhone and outdoors in bright light it is better but indoors S3 display looks better
    2. Thinner
    True
    3. Lighter
False! Both are different sizes so comparing by overall weight is correct. Lets measure weight per inch to give you better idea.
    iPhone: 112gm/4 inches = 28gm Samsung S3: 133gm/4.8 inches = 27.7 gm
So in a true sense S3 is lighter as you are getting bigger screen size in less weight.
    4. Easier one handed operation
Hahaha!! This is funny….. I have hardly seen people using only one hand… most use two hands.. By the way who the hell said that phone is to be used by only one hand when u have two: P. Tie
    5. Better build quality
Yes.. it should better be because apple costs more than S3 (premium price)
But it comes down to personal preference. Tie
    6. Faster updates
True. But I did got Jelly Bean update in October which is fine!
    7. Supported longer
False! Even older versions of android are supported till date. Tie
    8. More apps
Yes! None the less not the number of apps but how many useful apps are available matters and both have same. Tie
    9. Better version of apps
    True and False!! Tie
Both have better versions and both have exclusive apps
    10. More durable
This is a tie! Different drop tests shall reveal different results
    Score:
    Apple – 3 Samsung – 1 Tie – 6

    11. Reversible charging port
False! Lighting charging port is definitely not faster! Personally I prefer charging with any cable I have over dual side. Anyways how many times can you fiddle on a two side cable?
    12. Vibrate switch
False! This is just pure lack of research by phone buff!
Just keep pressing volume button down and it shall go into vibrate mode or keep pressing power button and it shall multiple options to work with, one of them is vibrate mode!

    13. Louder speaker
Really!! 2 to 5 dB may be

    14. Faster boot up, app speed, and browser
    True and False
Faster Boot up – If S3 has SD Card inserted then iPhone is faster and
Without SD card S3 is faster
The difference is of hardly few seconds!
App speed – iPhone launches app faster but in terms of operation non-Add apps work faster in S3.
Browser – Iphone is not faster. It feels faster because when it loads a web page it shows initial content quickly but it still keeps on working where as S3 finishes with content display.
    15. Siri
    Fasle!
Ok! Phone buff again a real bad job here….Have you heard about GOOGLE NOW!
Its way better than Siri! And its predictive cards are just awesome! It’s just been a few weeks use but it knows what I need…
    16. Raise to speak
I shall raise to speak with Siri and again bring phone down to see the results!! Sounds smart right: P
Here Apple copied S3s raise to call feature!
    17. Reader feature in browser
True! I haven’t found any app alternative in S3.
False! Changing size of the text is simple and is few touches away!
    18. Video compression for email
Personally, I have never required to email videos and when you have S beam (NFC- Not just Samsung but all NFC capable devices can share) where size doesn’t matter so don’t need email… for long distance tons of video sharing options…
The more important this people attach on email are documents and other format files which apple still doesn’t understand! Shame here
    19. iTunes has larger media collection
    True
    20. Find my iPhone
Shame Phonebuff… Samsung Dive! And you can track not just by proprietary I devices in iPhone but any browser which has access to internet!
(In fact lost phone security feature was first available on Samsung phones around 4 years before iPhone existed!)

    Apple – 2 Samsung – 4 Tie – 4

    21. More intuitive UI
Ok here it becomes interesting because intuitiveness varies from person to person. Personally I don’t feel iPhone is the most intuitive.
Phone buff forgot to compare ecosystems not just out of the box device! You get lot of custom launchers on android to suite your personal choice of intuitiveness. Hence I shall say it’s False

    22. Better 3D graphics
If eyes can’t make a difference out of two then really does it matter!!

    23. Game center
    True

    24. Apple store customer service
I haven’t faced problem in both devices so difficult to say but 400 centres for iPhone users is too large a number to solve issues: P
    25. No bloatware
True. There are non in iPhone
False… Some bloatware are good e.g. S3 Smart care which can be used to diagnose problem issues before you seek assistance of customer service
    26. Built in emoji keyboard
False it may not be built in android but available from play store for free and it shall work with not just few apps but any app you have on your phone. Honestly! iOS can’t compete with Android’s customisation capabilities.
    27. Take pictures with volume button
Sometimes it feels good use volume button to click pictures but saying “Cheese” and S3 clicking photos for you is just Awesome!
    28. Tap to top in any app
True. In S3 double tap option is there in few apps
    29. Multiple notification styles
No Doubt Notification are deep rooted within android. iOS copied and trying new things but Android is simply too good, extremely useful and very intuitive.
    30. Spotlight search
False! Again Google Now has this.

    Apple – 1 Samsung – 5 Tie – 4

    31. Read aloud highlighted text
False! Not built in built in available in play store for ages
    32. Guided access
True,,,,, did anyone use this feature?
    33. Privacy options
False! In application manager you can see the access rights for every app.
    34. Do not disturb
    False! Blocking mode in S3
With play store app such as Tasker you can do almost anything you can think of..
    35. Set restrictions
False! Again custom launchers have this functionality.
    36. Keyboard shortcuts
False! Again 3rd party apps have this functionality
    37. Lock screen options (camera, music, Siri)
False Hahaha!! Again is copied from Android. You can customise what 4 apps you want access from lock screen
    38. Reminders by location
False! With play store app such as Tasker you can do almost anything you can think of..
    39. Easy access to photo gallery from camera
False this is silliest reason by Phonebuff. Iphone has swipe access and S3 has touch access.
    40. Custom contact vibrations (Better resale value)
Tie Both have custom contact vibration feature.

    Apple – 1 Samsung – 2 Tie – 7

    41. iMessage
False! This is only for iPhone user and S3 also has similar messenger chatOn. I dislike both. There are better cross platform messengers such as whatsApp, Viber, Skype etc.

    42. VIP mailbox
Flase! Not just VIP but you can create any folder like VIP 1 to VIP 100 :P in S3
    43. Pop up notifications on lock screen
False! Both have it. In fact S3 goes a step further and that is if you swipe on the notification and unlock your phone it shall directly go to that app.
    44. Airplay mirroring
Yes others don’t have it, but DLNA cross platform is much better option.
    45. iTunes remote
Since S3 doesn’t have iTunes they thought it’s better not to give a remote!!
You can voice control music players so need for any hardware
    46. iPod features (equalizer, shake to shuffle, etc)
Why are we talking about iPod feature here ;) still these features are available in s3 music player
    47. Passbook
False! google wallet and 3rd party apps like pass wallet available

    48. More accessories available
    True and False
You can have more accessories for iPhone to make it beautiful from outside
You can have more accessories for S3 to make it beautiful internally (No jail breaking or rooting)

    49. Photo stream
Share shot and buddy photo share is way better than this.

    50. Easy sync and backup with iCloud and iTunes
Both have this option. With Iphone you are stuck with iTunes but with S3 multiple options are there which is always good.
    Apple – 2 Samsung – 5 Tie – 5

    Total Score
    Apple – 9 Samsung – 17 Tie – 24

    So Finally!!
    – There are 9 aspects of iPhone which are not available on S3 or better than S3
    – There are 17 aspects of S3 which are not available on iPhone or better than
    – There are 24 aspects of iPhone which are available on both S3 & iPhone in one of the other way.

    • Russ

Wow what a brilliant analysis, you should have your own site! :) Thanks for adding so much to the thread!

Can I ask if you had to choose, which phone wins for you when you combine all this functionality with emotion?

Also, I have one serious gripe in the past with iPhone which I noted is now okay- the pop up notifications for sms! I want to be able to not have my phone even react when a message comes in and I want the ability to hide apps – seems iOS6 has all that sorted now (finally!) but can the S3 do it or will that led light always flash even I don’t want it to?

      Thanks again!

    • Mastermind

      I read ur comment….great!!!!
If u say s3 is better smart phone….
Pls tell me one thing….y android need anti-virus app ,
Where his smartest lack for reading virus…
App store doesnt have any shit app called anti-virus nor cydia(jailbreak)

      • Jonius

Mastermind, I think the reason why Android has anti-virus software is simply because there is a chance of having virus in your android phone. But lets take a look here on this myth.
-Many companies suggest that there plenty of viruses in android OS : Well while that might be true the question is where is the source of those virus. The answer is Sideloaded softwares.
-The chances of installing virus using Google play is next to none.

SO its true there are virus and anti-virus software but an average John Doe who sticks with Google Play is much safer even without anti-virus software.

    • Charles

      u r right broo
n u should really consuder make ur own website or a video on youtube :)

    • Carlos robles

Android phones supported longer? Now that’s just a flat out lie. I’ll sum it up for all of you: iPhone is faster, smoother, better built and supported way way way longer than any android device. Most androids are outdated when you buy them, if you are lucky enough to get an update then it will take months, maybe a year since it has to go through the carrier and the and the manufacturer first. Root and rom? Sure. Shouldn’t be required. The apps suck too.

  • Andy

Hey! You can do them pretty easily, they are built in features!
I want to be able to not have my phone even react when a message comes in
    – Simply go to message settings and you shall find a checkbox for notifications checked in. Just uncheck it and you shall not receive notification for the message service just for info this functionality exists even in ginger bread version phones. As I said earlier customisation is deep rooted in android. In fact you can configure notification for every service / app installed on your phone.
I want the ability to hide apps
    – Simply go to app drawer and touch on menu and you shall see last option as hide application and most of the custom launchers have this feature as well
can the S3 do it or will that led light always flash even I don’t want it to?
    – This is also quite simple, just go to settings >display > LED notifications and here uncheck notification box. Alternatively you can install flow light app which has features to configure for each individual type of notification
Let me clarify, I am not loyal to Apple or Samsung! I like good technology value for money phones and personally I prefer S3 but I must say it’s about choice.
The perception of Apple brand is better for people and it became matter of high status for many hence many just buy because of that than for the phone’s functionalities. Apple played with marketing well and I don’t fancy falling for their marketing Gimmicks!
One of the recent example is Lighting connector which they advertised as faster and 80 smaller. Indeed it is than previous iPhone connector but not industry USB 2 standard. It took apple over 5 years to get a smaller connector where as everyone else had smaller connectors since beginning.

    hope this helps!!

    • Russ

Thanks Andy, you’re very generous with your insights! Much appreciated.

Take your point on the marketing, but I think at the crux of it with Apple is that they do understand usability better than most tech companies out there (Microsoft for example) but their product specs are usually weaker. The general consumer is fine with that because it makes their lives easier. Also their hardware just looks and feels so much better – take the Mac screens for instance, they look 100 times better than other brands and also their touchpad is brilliant and competitors have not been able to match it.

Their software though is inferior to Microsoft I would argue – especially the Office suite.

For me, I still feel a strong fondness for the brand although I’m pissed with them for locking their phones which has caused me multiple headaches. Also I think they don’t allow some good apps that I needed (such as the points I raised above) until recently.

How do you find the user experience on the app stores comparative to itunes? Is it as easy to purchase and browse apps?

I’ve also read S3 does not work well with Mac – is that something you know about as well? I am amazed at your knowledge on the subject!

BTW, why did you get both an iPhone 5 and an S3?

  • jon

    ha, laughable!

samsung s3 is much more adaptable, the os is fine, isnt slower at ALL. s3 lets you install whatever you want on your phone and put files on and off without having to mess about with itunes. What a idiot article for idiots

    • Russ

Jon, thanks for your intelligent addition to the conversation complete with spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes. Very easy to see who the idiots are on the Internet.

      • Loverof yourwife

        Fuck you Russ

        • me

          lol

  • Sharon

    Andy,

I just switched from iPhone to s3 andI don,t know how to make VIP mailboxes like on iPhone. Will it notify me as we’ll? Your help is much appreciated. Also the passbook was a feature I liked. Can you help with that as well……

    Thanks

  • Andy

Russ….. agreed that apple products look awesome from outside which most of us cover with one or the other case/cover. What we will look at is the screen (home screens/desktop). Below is the link for my desktop on S3 and I can challenge any iPhone user to show me a single iPhone which looks more beautiful and clutter free than these screens and are functionally capable as well.

    Centre – http://tinypic.com/r/33aqreg/6
    Right – http://tinypic.com/r/nn1utt/6
    Left – http://tinypic.com/r/2nkknsw/6

Various icons such as aircraft on each screen, speed boat and yacht are various short cut links to apps and settings.

It really boils down to priorities. Sadly iPhone is at below par with my priorities such as Sharing Customisation, Widgets, Collaboration, Intuitiveness, Notifications, connectivity, storage, apps, multitasking, screen size, not holistic (need to buy additional apps to make things work) etc.

It is absolutely blissful to use Google play – a consolidated app store. Best of all is the wireless install where you select an app to install on your laptop and it shall install on your phone wireless! (or selected device)

I haven’t used S3 with MAC so not sure how it shall work. It should be fine unless Apple has written some code so that drivers don’t work properly when S3 is connected then that’s a different story: P

And russ I have two phones because S3 is my personal phone where as iPhone 4s is office provided phone and I also have an iPad. This might clear that I am not being pro android.

Sharon….. to make VIP mail boxes do as below
    – Create Label VIP
    – Select menu > Label Settings
    – Select Sync Messages ( 30 days or all based on your choice)
    – Check mark option email notification and you can also choose different notification sound so you know that you have received email from VIP even without turning your phone ON!
    – Now you are ready and start adding people to VIP label

I haven’t used passbook much but its dependent on retailers creating passes. I use NFC whenever I need to pay less amount and various QR codes are available can be used to redeem or to use them. For passbook you can use passwallet

    • Andy

hey also when you shall see centre home screen (http://tinypic.com/r/33aqreg/6) there are various words like office, games, tools etc. these are invisible folders and provide quick access to those categorical apps. In a day I am hardly use my app drawer where as with iphone you stuck in app drawer since that is the home screen…

  • Techfreak

    Andy,
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! You can open apps from the lockscreen in iphone, i phone is way faster, a jailbroken iphone or even a non jailbroken one can kick Android’s a*se all the way to Mars!!!!!
Stay with apple people, dont get ripped off ny Samsung!!!!

    • Andy

      Techfreak,

Hahahaha!! typical of a fanboy answer and attitude.. judgement is clouded by marketing gimmicks!!

You seem so happy that you can open apps from lockscreen!! just to make your facts straight this feature was available as an add on feature in Gingerbread (4 version older than current version) and built into 2 version older than current one. Now iphone users will not have b*lls to accept that iphone is just catching up.

if you think you can argue give me reasons as I did in my previous post! got B*lls to accept the challenge? don’t bother I know the answer :P

      • Andy

        Andy,
From what i’ve read…i can say that you are a typical android fanboy too…i’ve had s3 and i hated it because of the useless stock apps, it was lagging whenever i had apps opened in background and it just wasn’t for me….iphone 5 on the other hand suites me better….it is simple to use, its fast it just does whatever i want it to do, battery life is amazing and it just feels like a nice phone..(plus if you love customizing your phone so much you can always jailbreak your iphone and have all the same customizations that are available for android-even more)

  • Andy

My previous post didn’t go through because of links

I haven’t used passbook much but its dependent on retailers creating passes. I use NFC whenever I need to pay less amount and various QR codes are available can be used to redeem or to use them. For passbook you can use passwallet

Thanks Andy, will do some research on the Mac situation and if all looks okay will go for a Samsung S3. My work is talking about providing iPhones as the new BlackBerry (thank god for that – I cannot stand BB!) so I may end up with one of each as well. Can always pass the one I don’t like to my GF!

Do you have your own tech blog or anything like that? I think your notes make a lot of sense – more so than the original article it seems!!

  • Insomniiac

Totally agree my s3 is far more better than Iphone 5..
so much customisation and power.. :D

  • Charles

    s3 is much better
    please compare the quad core
and s3 has NFC and other more cool feature than I5

  • Johnny

At least you got a free iPhone 5 ?

  • jasmine

you forgot to mention the iphone’s ability to screen shot. you have no idea how annoying it is to not be able to screen shot.

Also, group messaging on an android is irritating. the messages do not all appear on the same tab. each member has their own tab, making it difficult to keep track of which messages came when.

  • Definately not Jasmine

Jasmine said that the s3 isn’t able to screen shot, FALSE!
What group messaging are you talking about? And by the way, ChatOn work with all Android devices, not just Samsung’s opposite to Apple’s imessage

Now to add more to the list, just two I can think right now:
    s3 better that the iphone:

+Totally usable Bluetooth, you can use it with any device as for the iphone you’re stuck with apple devices only.
    + Has NFC

I just want to make one thing clear before I raise my opinion. The S3 has very good hardware specs, so don’t get me wrong… It’s a good phone, but unfortunately not nearly as good as the iphone5. Firstly, Apple was successful in utilizing the hardware much better. The iphone is so much quicker and smoother when opening apps and using apps. Secondly, the iphone is much more stable.
Granted, you can’t customize it like you can the S3, but that is why the S3 fails to stay fast and stable. All the fancy homescreens and widgets is what slows it down, not to mention the Android OS. Apple has made the iphone to serve a certain purpose and that is to work and always work well. For myself who loves gadgets, but hate slow phones, the iphone deals with all my business needs as well as entertainment. The S3 is very good at entertaining the kids or likeminded adults, but as soon as you need to do something important it would let you down and you are forced to reboot before it works properly again. I don’t have that kind of patience anymore.
Think about it…. If the iphone wasn’t superior to all other phones, why do everyone always try to prove their product against it. It just proves that it is still the true measure of the best smartphone ever, and that the others will always lag behind until they realize that they should start something new instead of trying to build a smartphone with beating the iphone in mind. One example… The Ubuntu phone. Now thats new and innovative. Yes it’s also a Samsung, which proves my point. It’s better than the Android S3, yet it’s basically the same hardware.

First, Google sync is better than I cloud…and every analyst agrees with that **fact** but you.

    2. Nobody uses photo stream.
    3. Voice search is better on Android, and can do the same thing–they built an entire service, and offered free phonecalls, free voicemail speech-to-text, and free 411 for yearsto perfect their algorithms. You obviously hhaven’t used Google Now, either.
    4. I could go on forever…you didn’t hit the points that are important to people, you ignored certain facts, and you gave credit to certain features that are awful, didn’t deserve the credit, or are better on android, been by an iPhone users standards.

What makes this guy qualified to do anything even closely related to analysis? He has no idea what he’s talking about.

My my people get so defencive about their phones. I love my s3. First real phone was an old s1 telus fascinate and been on the droid ever since. There was lots of good arguments for both sides but every missed out on one really important thing. Ya don’t like a version of android…. ya do t need to use it…..custom ROMs people…faster. smoother no bloat wear and way more customizable than stock and really ez to load up on the popular devices with support. I use cyanogen 10 as my daily driver and have a well set up paranoid android backup (unreal once you get into customizing it with phone/tablet hybrid mode) and many many other ones to chose from. Please do a little real research into just what these things are capable of doing, xda is my favorite but there are others, don’t just read these generic comparisons that are usually very bias and make up your mind from there. Research them individually on support sites to avoid a lot of bias and get the facts, capabilities, and limitations. Then you can make your very own educated purchase. I really like what developers are doing with custom ROMs and tweaked kernals. The only thing that came close to what I wanted on an I phone led to loading an android os in one lol. I mean hey, I play psx games on it with my ps3 controller. And its mostly all free but then again I’m a fucking pirate. I only pay I I think its deserving which some apps are and they get there credit.

Only one reason needed why s3 is better cos its not the same dull apple pap that that barely improves every yet the same sheep go out of there way to get the latest one ! Sorry i got both s3 and iphone 4s and the only use i have for the 4s is a business phone it doesnt compare to the s3 in any other department

Sigh… iPhone 5 came out almost a year after the gs3… Lets compare a gs4 to an iphone 4s now why don’t we? A lot of these features are not really even used anyways. Fact is Android has more exclusive features because its a more open platform. So if you know your stuff you can get at least twice the amount of things customized on your Android. On the other hand iOS is an out of the box “I’ll do your thinking for you” operating system, comparing features on Android is like comparing life as a toddler to life as an adult. As an adult you can do more provided you have the knowledge (putting money aside) it also only works out well for you if you have that knowledge. On the other hand as a toddler your in a safe protected environment that doesn’t require much knowledge and your parents decide what you can and can’t do.

  • IHateIPhoneFanboys

I was going to respond to every problem I had with this list but then I realized I’d be here all night long. This isn’t a comparison, this is just a run-through of the features of the iphone 5.

  • Reno Ronquillo

This is just a list of features on the iPhone 5, and isn’t even a comparison. You might as well just call this “50 useless features you will find on the iPhone 5″

    • gamerscul9870

you sound useless than you think dumbfuck!

  • gamerscul9870

Iphone all the way, you’ll see real improvements by each generation and retina gives apps a breakthrough of style, s3 always steals from apple yet is the same crap year after year by material, system, and lag mostly!

  • Taj11611@yahoo.com

People r way to defensive about your phones. I think iphone is more user friendly and more solid software. Andriod has more custom options that are good but it is not as user friendly and software is glitchy sometimes.

  • Kyle Sorrell

Guy has no idea what hes talkin about apple puts out these 12 dollar production value phones every year and people are like omg. Fact is they are simplistic locked down pieces of crap and half of the people I know that have them jail brake them in attempt to make them better so clearly they are not better then anything not even a cricket phone.

  • Fred

This is possibly the most misinformed article ever written. The only thing worse than the claims of “more durable” or “supported longer” is the iJargon you think is unique to iPhones. Find my phone is old tech. iMessage is the same as BBM or google message. Siri? Are you joking? Call me rock god, because I’m as dumb as one.

  • Richard head

I would probably get a Iphone if they ever got there heads out of there rear end and put a NFC chip on it. yes the tech is old but the uses for it are endless.
