Sure, comparing a $500 tablet to a $200 tablet isn’t necessarily fair. But both the iPad 3 and the Nexus 7 are each of their respective operating system’s flagship tablet. And for that reason, we decided to do a speed comparison test between the two. We ran a boot up, app launch, and browser speed test on both devices to see which tablet is faster. In the end, the iPad 3 edged out the Nexus 7. But it wasn’t by much. Certainly not by a margin worth $300. Of course, you don’t buy a tablet for just its performance capabilities. Each of these devices has its own set of pros and cons, and it’s up to you to decide on which tablet best meets your needs. But if speed (and its associated bragging rights) is all you’re looking for, the iPad 3 is the tablet for you.
