ICS Now Accounts For 16% of Android Devices

In just four months, the number of devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has multiplied over 5x, reaching almost 16% from just 3% back in April. As expected, ICS has taken its biggest piece of the pie from Android 2.3 Gingerbread devices which lost 3.4% of its Android share. Of course, the majority of the increase is due to new devices running ICS, including the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One series. While seeing ICS rolled out to more and more devices is nice, at this point in time ICS seems more like a consolation prize as Jelly Bean was recently released.
