One of the most basic features on the iPhone (well, just about any phone for that matter) is the ability to change the incoming call ringtone and incoming SMS message text tone. In this basic how to video, I’ll show you how to set a new ringtone on your iPhone:

1. Go to your iPhone’s main Settings app.
2. Tap on Sounds.
3. Scroll to where it says “Ringtone” and tap on it.
4. Select a new ringtone from the list (you can tell you selected it when it has a check mark next to it).

The same process applies to changing your text message notification (text tone). Follow steps 1 and 2 but on step 3 tap on “Text Tone” instead and then proceed to step 4.
