Google Wins Case Against Oracle Over Patent Infringement

Google has come out victorious in its courtroom battle against Oracle regarding Android’s alleged infringement on Oracle’s Java patents. The jury for the case found Google not guilty on all eight claims made by Oracle which were based off of two patents the company held. Here is Google’s official statement after hearing the verdict:

Today’s jury verdict that Android does not infringe Oracle’s patents was a victory not just for Google but the entire Android ecosystem.

While today Google can sit back and celebrate its victory, the search giant knows that Oracle is likely to appeal the case to a higher court. So while the courtroom battle has been won, the war (so to speak) between Google and Oracle isn’t over just yet.
