Do you have a Windows Phone and want to avoid getting hit with those expensive roaming charges for “roaming” that half the time you’re completely unaware of? We don’t blame you, and that’s why in this article we show you exactly how to disable roaming on your Windows Phone 7:

1. Go to your phone’s main settings app (from the app list).
2. Tap on “cellular” from the list of options.
3. Under roaming options, make sure that “don’t roam” is selected. If it isn’t, tap on the drop down and change it so that it is.

If you ever change your mind, or if you find out that your plan covers roaming, you can enable it by following the same steps above but selecting “roam” instead of “don’t roam” in step 3.
