How To Copy And Paste On Windows Phone

Copy and paste is one of the most basic features on any smartphone, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t useful. The ability to copy and paste makes saving and sharing the content you see on your phone easy. In this how-to, we’ll show you how to copy and paste on your Windows Phone with just a few simple steps:

  1. Tap on a word within a sentence that you wish to copy. This will highlight it.
  2. If you want to copy more text, press and hold on either the left or right slider and move it to highlight the text you want copied.
  3. When you let go, you should see a circle button with a paper inside of it showing above your highlighted text. Press it to copy what you’ve selected.
  4. Now, you can go to any text field (where you can type something in with your keyboard) and paste the text you copied. Do this by pressing the circle button with a clipboard right above the keyboard.

Note that you can only copy and paste in certain applications. For example, you cannot copy an applications title or settings. Similarly, you can’t paste copied text into something in which you can’t type into in the first place.
