Windows Phone Roadmap Leaked, Suggesting “Superphones” In Q4 2012

WMPowerUser has got its hands on an alleged leaked roadmap for Windows Phone which suggests that two versions of Microsoft’s mobile operating system will be released in 2012. According to the roadmap, the first update (codenamed Tango) will be focused on bringing Windows Phone to the low cost entry level market in the 2nd quarter of 2012.

While we always welcome updates, it’s the the second update (codenamed Apollo) that has our attention. When Nokia’s CEO spoke about Apollo and said it will be a very different game compared to Mango. And the leaked roadmap looks to confirm this, with the suggestion of WP7 superphones. Think dual-core processors with higher resolution screens on an OS that runs perfectly fast with a single-core processor.
