Adobe Will No Longer Develop Flash Player For New Mobile Devices

Adobe has confirmed today that it will “no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook.” Instead, Adobe said it will focus its efforts on HTML5.

The days of saying “my phone is better because it has flash” are slowly coming to an end. The lack of Flash support on the iPhone has been one of the biggest arguments Android fans have had against iOS, but it looks like even Adobe themselves are admitting what Apple has been saying all along: Flash player doesn’t work very well on mobile operating systems.
