T-Mobile’s Galaxy S2 To Have 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor

We’ve finally got an answer as to what processor the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 variant will be sporting. Samsung announced via Twitter that the phone will come with a Qualcomm APQ8060 dual core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, making it the fastest clock speed among the Galaxy S II lineup. We’ve been hearing Samsung opted for the Qualcomm chip because it supports T-Mobiles HSPA+ 42Mbps network.

While the clock speeds and support for the faster data network sound great, in reality, we feel as if this is more for marketing purposes than actually delivering a better handset. Of course, you will get better data speeds with the support for 42Mbps, but the increase in clock speed probably just makes up for the superiority of the Exynos chip found in the other Galaxy S II variants. Regardless though, this phone is primed to be the fastest smartphone that T-Mobile will have to offer.
